December Update

As the year rolls in to a close MYSG have reflected over the last 12 months, our successes and failures and what we can build on for 2016.  We currently have over 800 members in the Greater Manchester area and we organised 10 networking events over the last year to cater for these members.  They varied from beer tasting in the Northern Quarter, to cupcake decorating in Spinningfields;  drinks with the royal institute of chartered surveyors to wine tasting and spa evenings with the young accountants.

Next year the MYSG Board are going to focus on making all of our events inter-professional so that we can add a real benefit to our members.    We will be looking to work with the Manchester Young Professional Network, the junior bankers in Manchester and continue our on-going relationships with the young accountants and surveyors.   We also have a JLD representative on our board, Victoria Elliot, who attends the National Junior Lawyers Division meetings and feeds back to our members any updates or concerns we may have nationally  for our level within the profession.   For 2016 we are hoping to strengthen our relationship with Manchester Law Society and bring more closely together the senior and junior members of the profession.

Dates for your diary:

13th January 2016 Health and Wellness Event at Castlefield Gym.
Attendees will be treated to an informative presentation from a nutritional expert and a complimentary body conditioning class – a sure way to beat those January blues and get fit for 2016.

For those of us who are more inclined to the traditional kind of networking “in the pub” we will be holding a wine tasting event with the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors towards the end of January.

18th February 2016 “Mega inter-professional event” at Revolucion De Cuba.
This event hosts circa 700 attendees from a variety of professions within the city centre including the Young Solicitors Group, the Young Chartered Accountants Group, the Town Planners Institute and the Chartered Surveyors.  It is set to be a great success as it has been in previous years with attendees clearly being the future leaders in their professions.

Members are encouraged to check the website regularly for news and updates as we are receiving an unprecedented amount of interest in each of our events and attendance is on a first come first served basis.
